Privacy Policy
Last updated July 2026. Short, because we collect little.
What we collect
Account data: your email address and password (handled by our authentication provider; we never see your password).
Profile data: whatever you put in your group profile, such as the group name, institution, city, country, research areas, team members, publications, and logo. This is directory data; you are publishing it on purpose.
Usage data: we count profile views with the viewer’s country (from request headers) to show group owners simple analytics. We do not track individual visitors, and there are no third-party advertising trackers on GRN.
What is public
Approved group profiles, events, grants, positions, briefs, and feed posts are public: anyone can view them, search engines can index them, and they appear on the map. Your account email is not shown publicly unless you enter it as your group’s contact email.
Where data lives
Data is stored with our database provider (Supabase) and served through our hosting provider (Vercel). Geocoding of city names uses OpenStreetMap’s Nominatim service. Only the city, country, and institution name are sent, never your account details.
We send email for two reasons: things you asked for (grant alerts, if your group opted in) and things sent to you (collaboration requests to your group’s contact address). Every alert email has an opt-out. We do not sell or share email addresses.
Changing or deleting your data
You can edit your group profile, and add or remove team members and publications, from your dashboard at any time.
Removing a submitted event, position, grant, or feed post is not self-service yet. Email us and we will remove it. The same goes for deleting your group or your whole account: ask and we will do it manually, usually within a few days.
